Planning and care

Use these checks alongside this product's specifications and the selected option.

Before you order

Check whether the selected product is natural stone or porcelain effect, and confirm the proposed wall location. Measure openings, corners and cuts, then check panel or tile coverage and the suitability of the substrate and fixing system.

Measure the project and agree an allowance for cuts with your installer. Check the contents and coverage of the option you select, as a sample and a full pack are different purchases.

Installation and care checks

Use the selected product's fixing instructions and an appropriate substrate, adhesive and grout. Confirm any wet-area, exterior or movement-joint requirements before work begins. Choose a cleaner compatible with both the facing material and joints.

Multicolour Stone Cladding Split Face Tiles 350 x 180 are a distinctive natural stone wall covering for interior and exterior applications. Combining grey, bronze, rust, ochre, charcoal and earthy brown tones, the natural slate creates a richly varied stone cladding finish for feature walls, fireplaces, garden walls, entrance walls and commercial interiors.

The 350 x 180 mm format is formed from individual pieces of natural multicolour slate in different lengths, widths and approximately 10–20 mm thicknesses. Rather than creating a flat and uniform tiled surface, the varying stone sizes and projecting faces produce a pronounced 3D split face structure, with some pieces sitting forward and others recessed slightly deeper into the wall.

This irregular construction is one of the main characteristics of Multicolour Slate Stone Cladding. The combination of different widths, heights, thicknesses and natural surface levels recreates the appearance of individually stacked stone, producing stronger shadow lines, greater visual depth and a natural complexity that cannot be achieved with a flat, regular wall tile. The finished wall has a layered, hand-built character while still benefiting from the convenience of a modular Split Face Tile format.

For exterior applications, Multicolour Slate Stone Cladding is particularly effective on garden walls, raised beds, courtyard walls, entrance features and decorative landscape structures. Its mixture of natural grey, rust and earthy tones works well alongside sandstone paving, granite, rendered walls, timber, planting and architectural metalwork.

Indoors, Multicolour Slate Split Face Stone Cladding can be used for fireplace surrounds, living room feature walls, reception areas, restaurants, traditional pubs, hotels, offices and retail interiors. The varied natural colouring and uneven 3D surface give larger walls greater texture and architectural interest without relying on artificial patterns or printed finishes.

Multicolour Slate is a genuine natural stone product. Individual pieces vary naturally in grey, bronze, rust, ochre and brown tones, as well as in cleavage, mineral markings, thickness and surface texture. These variations are an essential part of the material and create the irregular depth, colour movement and layered stacked-stone character of the finished wall.
