Before you order

Use this checklist to prepare a paving order and identify any details that still need confirming. It is project guidance, not a substitute for product specifications or agreed delivery and return terms.

1. Check the product and chosen option

  • Confirm material, colour, finish, dimensions and thickness.
  • Read whether the option is a full pack, part pack, individual item or sample.
  • Check the product reference and the quantity included.
  • Ask about any dimension or application detail that is unclear.

2. Measure the area and plan the layout

Include changes in shape, borders, openings, steps and cuts. Compare the planned quantity with the selected option's published coverage. A mixed-size patio pack needs a compatible laying pattern; it should not be treated as a collection of interchangeable single slabs.

3. Compare appearance with the actual setting

Use product photographs and available samples alongside the surrounding brickwork, doors and planting. Look at the finish in the intended space, and allow for natural variation where the product is natural stone.

4. Confirm delivery arrangements

Prepare the delivery postcode, quantity and any access restrictions. Ask about the delivery method, vehicle access, unloading point, charges and timing for the order. Confirm these details before scheduling labour or making assumptions about where the materials can be placed.

5. Check returns and installation requirements

Ask about return eligibility, reporting damage and any return or collection charges before purchase. Confirm compatible preparation, fixing and jointing materials with your installer, following the selected product's technical guidance.
